General information

Pepperwood Zinfandel is a wine from California, region of USA ,is a wine from California. California has risen in recent decades among the most successful wine regions and most dynamic in the world. Thanks to a mild and sunny climate, a variety of sites and multiple grape varieties. All type of wine is produced in California, red white and rosé. The more than 700 wineries offer a wide variety of products. The main producing regions are Napa Valley and Sonoma County. The majority of Californian wines are made of Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel for red wines, Chardonnay for white wines. Assemblies are also found (under the term 'Meritage') close to the methods used in the Bordeaux region, combining Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot Malbec for red, white wines being from Sauvignon, Semillon and Muscadelle.California also produces sparkling wines from Pinot Black, and assembled according to the 'traditional method', as well as semi-dry wines (Riesling, Gewürztraminer) or sweet from Chenin blanc or white Muscat.

But although this research closed the debate over whether Zinfandel is Primitivo, it opened up an even older chapter of the variety's history. We know that Primitivo arrived in Italy via Croatia. In the US, Zinfandel gives robust red wines as well as semi-sweet roses (called White Zinfandel) and late harvest dessert wines, depending of the winemaking method used. Each winemaking area of California has its own style of Zinfandel red wine: balanced and spicy in Sonoma County, intense and plummy in Nappa Valley, round and soft in San Luis Obispo County...
