General information

Western Australia

Evans & Tate The Go-Between Shiraz is a wine from Western Australia, region of Australia ,By far the most well-known and established wine region in the South West is Margaret River, three hours’ drive south of Perth. The signature wines produced by Margaret River wineries include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Cabernet Sauvignon. From here, head south into the depths of the tall-tree forests, and you’ll enter the cooler-climate wine region of the Great Southern, noted for its exceptional Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Margaret River

Evans & Tate The Go-Between Shiraz is located in Western Australia's sub-region of Margaret River ,Margaret River Wine Region is internationally recognised as a premium producer of Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. It also produces a signature style of wine with the blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Margaret River has in under 50 years grown to become one of the world’s great wine producing regions. The benefit for a bottle of wine with Margaret River on the label comes from a unique combination of science, location and people; we are unique to other wine world regions in the combination of regional assets and wine attributes it can bring.

Grape

  • Shiraz(100%)
is the name given to the dark-skinned Syrah grape when grown in Australia and selected areas of the New World. Shiraz is so important to Australian viticulture that it is the most planted grape variety in the majority of Australian vineyards and is virtually synonymous with wine regions such as the Barossa Valley. The term Shiraz has its roots in the New World, and the prevailing style of Shiraz winemaking reflects this heritage. Bright fruit flavors (blueberries, black cherries) and silky, soft tannins are characteristics of modern Shiraz wines. Secondary notes of chocolate lend themselves well to the full-bodied texture of these wines, often accented by pepper and spicy inflections. During the 1990s and early 2000s a lot of Australian Shiraz were characterized by highly extracted, super-ripe wines. Between 2000 and 2010, a new generation of wines began to emerge, working towards the elegant spicy style of the northern Rhone Valley.

Owner

Evans & Tate is celebrated as the Number 1 Margaret River brand in Australia having found its Margaret River home in 1974 on the northern bank of the Wilyabrup River. Known for its well-drained gravel soils, Mediterranean climate and maritime influence, it was the perfect location on which to plant vines. Since these humble beginnings the Evans & Tate winemaking philosophy has focused on maximising fruit quality in the vineyard, along with producing wines that balance power and elegance. Evans & Tate wines tell the story of their home and the year that was.

Vineyard

The length of the seamless soft plump, juicy fruits of ripe plum and cherry provide a great structure to the shiraz. The elegance of the wine also shows a lovely spice kick on the finish which provides an excellent length.
